The Band (Robbie Robertson, Levon Helm, Rick Danko, Garth Hudson, and Richard Manuel) played their farewell performance at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco on Thanksgiving Day in 1976. The performance included an impressive revolving cast of guests and was made into a film documentary, directed by Martin Scorsese, called The Last Waltz.
Framed here is a limited edition series of four images of The Band onstage during this show, captured by photographer James Fortune.
James Fortune began his photographic career in the late 1960s while still in college in Los Angeles. He photographed and cataloged over 15,000 images of rock icons and others through 1980.
The series of images, from a limited edition of 275, is hand-signed and numbered by Fortune. We have two of these framed series in stock: #49/275 and #45/275.
