Brian Wilson is best known as co-founder, lead singer and songwriter for the Beach Boys. After signing with Capitol Records in 1962, Wilson wrote or co-wrote more than 24 Top 40 hit songs for the Beach Boys. Wilson was the first pop artist to be credited as writer, arranger, producer and performer of his own music. He is also known for his innovations in sound production and as a major contributor to the development of the California Sound.
