"The High Priestess of Soul," pianist and vocalist Nina Simone actually employed a myriad of genres as part of her style: jazz, blues, classical, gospel, R&B, and pop. She received four Grammy nominations in her lifetime, and received a Grammy Hall of Fame Award in 2000. She was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.
