Ron Campbell was the Director, Animator, and Storyboard Artist of the Saturday morning cartoon series, The Beatles, that ran from 1965 to 1967, with reruns through 1969, on ABC in the US. He later animated scenes from the Beatles film Yellow Submarine and many cartoons, including Scooby Doo, The Jetsons, The Flintstones, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and others spanning his 50-year career in children's television.

His artwork here depicts John Lennon leaning pensively against a wall, and is signed "Ron Campbell Director The Beatles cartoons." It is framed to show its deckled edge alongside a 33-1/3 RPM single of "I Saw Her Standing There" recorded by the Elton John band, featuring John Lennon and the Muscle Shoals Horns. The record's cover features a photograph of John Lennon with Elton John, dated 28th November 1974.
