Britney Spears was one of the new reigning princesses of pop music in August 2003 when she and Christina Aguilera performed Madonna's song, "Like a Virgin" on the MTV Video Music Awards. Madonna came out to join them and in a highly publicized incident, she and Britney kissed onstage.
