The British rock band Cream (Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce) released their groundbreaking double album, Wheels of Fire, in 1968. The first record was recorded in the studio, and the second live at the Fillmore. Felix Pappalardi joined them on the studio album, playing various instruments and producing.

 

Wheels of Fire reached #3 on the UK charts and #1 in the US, becoming the world's first double-platinum selling album. Rolling Stone magazine ranked it at #205 on their 2012 list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

 

The Wheels of Fire LP framed here is a 1968 Atco Records release #SD 2-700, with a Gold Records seal affixed. It is hand-signed by Eric Clapton and others.
