James Taylor was one of the most popular folk pop singers of the 1970s, and with over 100 million records sold, one of the best-selling music artists of the 20th Century. A recipient of 5 Grammy awards, James Taylor was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.

 

A promotional poster of James Taylor is featured in this collection, along with a limited edition 1972 photograph of Taylor with Carole King, which is hand-titled "You've Got a Friend 1972" and numbered .

 

The title refers to the Carole King song, "You've Got a Friend," first recorded by King for her album Tapestry. The song won King a Grammy for Song of the Year. Taylor recorded it on his subsequent album, Mudslide Slim and the Blue Horizon," and won a Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
